Islamabad Alterations focuses on tailoring and clothing alterations with a strong emphasis on garment remodelling and upcycling. We work on pieces that need a better fit, a new shape, or a fresh purpose.

Our process is practical and transparent. We review the garment, discuss the design direction, confirm the scope, and then begin the work once the concept is approved.

Our story

How we work

Founded in 2023 by Amina Shah, the studio was built for people who want to keep wearing garments they already value. That includes everyday pieces, vintage clothing, and sentimental items that deserve careful handling.

We began with a simple idea: clothing should be adapted thoughtfully instead of replaced too quickly. A good alteration can improve wearability, extend use, and give a familiar garment a new life.

Our work includes redesign consultation, dress and skirt remodelling, shirt and jacket restyling, vintage-garment fit updates, and fabric-reuse accessory projects. Each project is shaped by the garment itself, not by a fixed template.

Before additional work is carried out, we confirm the concept and scope. At collection, we check the fit or finish again and handle any small agreed adjustments with care.

Clear assessment

We begin with a garment assessment so the quote reflects the fabric, construction, condition, and requested fit. This keeps the process clear from the start.

Approved changes

Design changes move forward only after concept approval. If extra work becomes necessary, we confirm it before continuing.

Thoughtful upcycling

We look for ways to reuse usable fabric and preserve the character of the original piece where possible. Some redesign ideas may be limited by the garment's existing material and construction.

Final review

Every completed piece is reviewed again at collection, and care and pressing notes are shared so you know how to handle the garment after pickup.
